Terms of use

The agreement between you and us when you use Loupe. It is short, and it is meant to be read.

You get a 7-day trial with no card. After that it is $5.99 a month or $39.99 once, and either way you can have your money back within 30 days by asking. The software reads your files and never writes to them, and we do not promise it will find everything.

1. Who you are agreeing with

These terms are between you and Olivera Radovanović Preduzetnik Novi Sad, Seljačkih buna 93, Novi Sad, Serbia (“we”, “us”). They apply when you download, install or use the Loupe application, the loupe command-line tool, or this website.

2. The trial

The trial runs for 7 days from first launch, needs no payment card and creates no account. It is the complete product, not a reduced one. When it ends, searching stops working. Nothing else happens: no file of yours is moved, altered or deleted, the index stays on your disk until you remove it, and buying a licence later picks up where you left off.

3. Your licence

Buying gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the software on Macs you own or control, for as long as your plan is current. A lifetime licence does not expire. A monthly subscription lasts as long as you keep paying, and renews its lease over the network about once a month.

You may not:

  • Share, resell, sublicense or publish your licence key.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except where the law gives you that right regardless of what this says.
  • Remove or alter the notices identifying the software or its authors.

The software is licensed, not sold. Everything in it, and everything on this site, stays ours. Your files stay entirely yours — we neither acquire nor claim any right over anything the software reads.

4. Paying

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Prices are in US dollars and shown before tax, which is added at checkout where it applies. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time from the link in your receipt; cancelling stops the next payment and leaves the current period running to its end. Launch pricing is available while it is advertised and may be withdrawn for new purchases at any time — a licence already bought is unaffected.

5. Refunds

Within 30 days of purchase, email hello@macloupe.com and we will refund you. No reason required, no form to fill in. This sits on top of any statutory right of withdrawal you have and does not reduce it.

6. What the software requires

Apple silicon (M1 or newer), running macOS 26 or later. This is a hard requirement rather than a recommendation, and it is stated in the FAQ and on the download card before you buy. A machine that does not meet it is a refund, not a support case.

7. What we promise, and what we do not

We promise the two things the product is built on, because they are architectural rather than aspirational: the software never writes to your files — it does not move, rename, tidy, deduplicate or delete anything — and it never transmits your files, their names or their contents anywhere. Its network use is limited to the one-off model download and the licence activation described in the privacy policy.

We do not promise it will find every file you are looking for. Search quality depends on what is in your documents, how legible your scans are, and how you phrase things. That is exactly what the free trial is for: try it on your own disk before paying anything.

Beyond those promises, and to the extent the law allows, the software is provided as is, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

8. Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data.

On lost data specifically: the software does not modify or delete your files, so it cannot lose them. Keep backups anyway. Everybody should keep backups.

9. Ending it

You can stop using the software and delete it at any time; the index goes with it and your folders are untouched. We may terminate a licence obtained fraudulently, or one being shared in breach of section 3, and will refund a legitimate purchase we have terminated in error.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use the software after a change means accepting it. A change that materially reduces what you have already paid for does not apply retroactively to a licence you already hold.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and may bring proceedings there.

12. Getting in touch

hello@macloupe.com. It is a small operation, and the reply comes from the person who built the thing.
